Why subscribe to the teenlibrarian.com feed?

With an feed, you will see the headlines of my latests posts as soon as they appear on the teenlibrarian.com blog. You can click on the headline to read the item without leaving your desktop newsreader or online service (such as MyYahoo or Bloglines). You won't need to check teenlibrarian.com again and again to find out whether there are new posts or Q&As.

What do I need to subscribe?

You will need a desktop news reader or online service.  Do a Google search for "RSS reader" and you will find many free, dowloadable software options. However, if you move around to different computers during the day, you may prefer an online service such as NewsGator, Bloglines, or MyYahoo, since you can access them on any Internet computer. You can also read your RSS feeds on mobile devices such as PDAs and even cell phones.

How do I subscribe to a feed?

Your newsreader or online service will have a button that says something like "Add RSS feeds".On the website or blog you want to add, look for a button or link that says "RSS feed" or something similar. Click on that button (often an orange button that says "XML", but not always). This will take you to a page full of strange-looking code. You will then want to cut and paste the URL -- NOT the source code on the page, only the web "address" from the address bar -- into your feed reader.

To add a subscription to Teenlibrarian.com, cut and paste the following URL:
